LONDON, December 31 (IranMania) - Iranian Ambassador to Thailand Mohsen Pakayeen said that a 57,85% growth was observed in the volume of trade exchange between Iran and Thailand over the first 10 months of 2006.

He told IRNA that based on the statistics released by the Thai Ministry of Commerce, the amount of the mutual trade exchange over the period stood at $488.5 mln, which shows a boost of 57.85% compared to last year's similar period.

"Out of the specified amount, $438.7 mln account for Thai goods exported to Iran, which shows a 59.56% increase over last year's similar period.

"This is while the Iranian products exported to Thailand over the period were worth 49.8 mln dollars showing a 44.22% increase over last year's similar period," he said.

"Ten major Thai products exported to Iran over the 10-month period included rice, radio and television sets, air conditioners and the relevant parts, synthetic fibers, rubber, iron and steel products, color television tubes, paper, rubber products, microwave and electronic devices.

"The five Iranian products exported to Thailand over the period included chemicals, iron and steel, stones, fresh and frozen processed aquatics as well as machinery and the relevant spare parts," said the Iranian diplomat.

Pakayeen said that given the country's trade capacities, the value of Iran-Thailand trade exchange is expected to exceed $600 mln by the end of the current year.
